Once the material exits the extruder in a molten state, it enters the filter under high pressure. The melt passes through a continuous metal filter band, which retains impurities such as paper, aluminum, wood, and other solid contaminants.

When the mesh begins to clog, the system:

- Activates the advancement of the filter band
- Replaces the contaminated section with a clean area
- Discharges the contaminated material
